Course Outline

NOTE: Each class will be 3 hours long on Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30pm-9:30pm EST. The entire course will be conducted virtually. The course can be adjusted as per the specific requirements of the program.
  • Technical Skills

    Fundamentals of Information Security:     Understanding of basic security concepts, risk management, and the CIA triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability).

    ‍Network Security: Knowledge of network architectures, protocols, and security measures like firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS.

    ‍System Security: Proficiency in securing operating systems, applications, and databases. Familiarity with patch management and endpoint protection.

    ‍Cyber Threats and Attack Types: Awareness of various types of cyber threats (malware, phishing, ransomware, etc.) and attack vectors.

    ‍Incident Response and Forensics: Skills in identifying, responding to, and recovering from security incidents. Basic forensics for investigating breaches.

    ‍Cryptography: Understanding of cryptographic principles, protocols, and implementation (encryption, hashing, digital signatures).

    ‍Cloud Security: Knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals and security concerns specific to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

In his role as Chief Information Officer, Frantz is responsible for leading and managing a data center, wired and wireless networks, classroom technology, service desks, computer program development, web development, computer systems operations, and cyber-security.
